While everyone knows that the bride is the only one who’s supposed to wear white on her wedding day, Solange Knowles decided to break the tradition and encouraged an all-white dress code for her wedding with director Alan Ferguson.
Rumors of the wedding have been buzzing as soon as summer started and now the couple made it official with a weekend ceremony in New Orleans. Seems like New Orleans is lately one of the it destinations to have your weeding, just last month, The Vampire Diaries star, Candice Accola tied the knot there, marrying the Fray’s guitarist Joe King.
According to the official photos, Solange had a truly magnificent day and everything seemed perfect. It wasn’t an extravagant and big wedding, but a smaller ceremony, intended to celebrate with close friends and family, most notably her mother Tina, sister Beyoncé and bestie Janelle Monáe. They newlywed couple chose the Holy Trinity Church for their ceremony, a perfect place as it is both very high in demand and nearby to the couple’s place. Solange’s dress was made by her friendHumberto Leon for Kenzo, it was a rather simple dress, accentuated with a long cape and the bride was truly radiating. More conservative and less extravagant than her previous strapless frock she wore for her first wedding, just a decade ago, in 2004.
Instead of going with a traditional limo or even carriage to get to the wedding reception, Solange opted for a more hipster solution and picked a bicycle decorated with flowers as her means of transport. Naturally, she wore a jumpsuit which was a more practical choice.
As for the performers of the evening, Solange picked her dear friends, Kelela, Questlove and Kindness. And like a performer that she is, she even had a dance choreographed for her and her ten year old son, much to the excitement of the other guests.
